And The World Is A Better Place With…
Just like Statler and Waldorf from The Muppet Show (the two grumpy old men who sat in the balcony shit talking everyone) even I need to take a break from being cantankerous every once in awhile and just take a step back from all the hatred.
With that in mind, I’ll drop a little knowledge this week and tell you guys about one of the absolute coolest human beings on the whole entire planet (whom you probably aren’t even aware of).

From the bio on his official site:
Derren Brown is a unique force in the world of illusion - he can seemingly predict and control human behavior.
He doesn’t claim to be a mind-reader, instead he describes his craft as a mixture of magic, suggestion, psychology, misdirection and showmanship.
Whatever you choose to call it, his unparalleled performances amaze and unsettle all those who watch him. This is a powerful and provocative form of entertainment, unlikely to be imitated for a long while.
I originally heard about Derren Brown from my Irish friend James. He told me about an episode of his show (Trick of the Mind) where he used Neuro-Linguistic Programming on Simon Pegg (and that clip can be found right here).
I immediately went home and watched the video and I pretty much haven’t shut up about him ever since.
It’s really hard to put into words exactly just how amazing the things that he does are, but I guarantee you that it’s unlike anything else that you’ve ever seen before.
He’s published a few books and has had countless TV series and specials air on UK’s Channel 4 (and if I was some kind of freeloading hippie liberal I would tell you right now that almost all of his stuff can be found on any major torrent site like isoHunt or The Pirate Bay. It’s a good thing I’m not though, right MPAA and RIAA!).
I’ll leave you with one of my favorite clips of his in which he creates a video game that is designed to put you into a trance and then has the unwitting participant wake up inside of the very video game that he was just playing. It is serious pants poopage, folks.
