There Are Dark Shadows On This Earth, But It’s Lights Are Stronger In The Contrast
In a world where the St. Louis Cardinals are curently in first place in the NL Central and Kristen Bell is actually dating Dax Shepard (barf), it’s easy to feel awash in a sea of evil. However, it’s important to remember there is just as much good.
With that in mind…
Awesome Thought of the Day:
I woke up this morning and did the still sort of groggy, stretch and take a few minutes to re-boot the system thing when I started thinking about what I wanted to eat for breakfast.
Then I remembered that I just went grocery shopping last night and I almost did a Johnathan Bender-style fist pump straight into my headboard.
Is there any better feeling than being super hungry and realizing you have hundreds, nay thousands, of possible food combinations to eat, all of which you just purchased for yourself (so they’re still fresh, new and unopened)?
(And for the record, Survey Says it was chocolate chip pancakes).
Terrible Thought of the Day:
I know horrible, horrible things happen all over the world every single second of every single day. All you have to do sometimes is simply glance at the log in screen when you check your email and it can be enough to bum you out for the whole day.
However, sometimes you hear something that for whatever reason just resonates on a different level and it can fuck you up for a week.
I was hanging out with my little sister after we helped my Mom plant a bunch of stuff in her garden for Mother’s Day and she told me this story that I just can’t seem to shake.
I will warn you though, honestly you may not want to read this. It actually kind of made/makes me sick to my stomach. So if you decide to skip on ahead to the next part, I can’t say that I’d blame you.
So my sister’s boyfriend’s family got a kitten not too far back. She was the runt of the litter and they named her Scout.
Anyways, my sister’s boyfriend’s brother was doing laundry one day. He went to get his clothes out of the dryer when he noticed that she (the kitten) had climbed into the dryer at some point while he was initially putting his stuff inside it.
The kitten had been trapped inside for the whole cycle and obviously, as a result, lost it’s life.
I honestly didn’t even know what to say in response, and I really still don’t.
I guess the whole point of me repeating the story is to kind of warn any and all of you out there to take care of your animals and look out for the same type of stuff.
Random Thought of the Day:
Now I’ll do my best Mr. Kruger and try to go out on a high note.
I’m getting to the age when the majority of the movies I grew up watching, well, the kids who acted in those movies are pretty much my age or just a bit younger/older (ie, grown up).
I have Hook on in the background as I’m typing this out which lead me to wonder about the three main kid stars from the movie and what they’ve been up to?
I remember seeing the actor who played Jack, Peter’s Son, last in Can’t Hardly Wait (which now came out over ten years ago? Wow). Well, it seems he really hasn’t done too much since.
The actor who has gotten the most work is Dante Basco, or you might remember him a little bit better as Rufio. Can’t say I’d be too stoked about spending my career appearing on Disney Shows and starring in Biker Boyz, but then again I work two nights a week at a bar so there you go.
And lastly, if you were curious about what the little girl who played Robin Williams’ daughter grew up to look like, well here you go. Not too shabby if I do say so myself.
